At the end of the meeting of the Superior Council of Magistracy which followed the Retreat of the members of this council, the President Evariste Ndayishimiye indicated that 300 files, consisting of complaints related to trials and failures of some magistrates, have been analyzed.

President Ndayishimiye is pleased that among the complaints related to trials, 95% are well rendered judgments, that only 5% of them will be reviewed: "This is an encouraging sign about the reforms undertaken, there are still trustworthy magistrates in Burundi.

President  Evariste Ndayishimiye deplored, however, that among the 40 complaints relating to the shortcomings of certain magistrates that were analyzed by the Council, 35 cases  concerned of corruption and mismanagement. He indicated that the Council had decided to dismiss them.

This occurs  after the 5th Ordinary General Assembly of the Association of African Anti-Corruption Authorities  held in Bujumbura to which  29 delegations of African anti-corruption authorities attended.
