 Development differs from wealth-President Museveni

Bujumbura, 22nd September.2024 Gako News Glog There’s a difference between development and wealth said  yesterday Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the Uganda President.

There’s a difference between development and wealth. The government can develop the country by providing better services such as roads, electricity, and hospitals. However, it cannot put food on your table or create wealth for you; you need to work to eliminate poverty from your homes, wrote Yoweri Kaguta Museveni,80, on his X account on Saturday. 

When spenting the day in Masindi District at the invitation of Hon. Balaam Barugahara, the Uganda youth minister, he  addressed local leaders and later held a rally.

My message is clear. the medicine to fighting poverty is engaging in wealth-creation activities to increase household incomes and create jobs. Demanding roads, electricity, and hospitals may not necessarily solve household income problems, he told to the Masindi people.  

What is happening in Uganda has been considered by some analysts as a game.  

"I would like to announce that I will not be on the ballot paper in 2026. Almighty God told me to focus on His Army first," said the Minister of diffense and the Museveni's  son, Muhoozi Kainerugaba, on X. This General  had earlier said he would run in the 2026 presidential election.   Consequently, Museveni, who has been in power since 1986, will seek a seventh term in power.
